The BRINE Northstar Invitational, hosted by Summit Lacrosse Ventures, was established in 2012 as one of the nation’s premier athlete development events, and combines concentrated talent, carefully engineered on-field sessions, college recruiting exposure, and high quality lacrosse competition. Northstar believes strongly in the value of a holistic approach, offering extensive focus on sports performance, leadership, inspiration, mental fitness, recruiting perspective. Northstar aims to play a unique and positive role in supporting female student athletes in their endeavor to be the best they can be.

Northstar has partnered with Victory Academy, whose mission is focused on Empowering our Emerging Generation to Maximize their Potential, and to Make those around them Better. Victory’s Executive Director, Kristen Kjellman Marshall, will conduct a leadership session at Northstar again in 2017, as it was met with great success in 2016. Victory Academy is an extension of Velocity Hub and is built on the wisdom of 20 years of experience in business leadership. The goal is to teach and encourage the attributes and traits of high performers, to make a positive impact on our future leaders. “Kristen and Victory represent our efforts to prioritize leadership, development, and lifelong success of Northstar athletes”, said Ashley (Gersuk) Murphy, Northstar Co-Founder. “We believe that Victory enhances the Northstar experience, but more importantly, it contributes to the long-term empowerment of an impressive group of female student athletes”.

In the Northstar Victory Academy, student athletes will be challenged to build a foundation for leadership. The program will offer captivating lessons and thoughtful exercises centered around key leadership traits of athletic, business, and community leaders. The students will be given tools and strategies to leverage their strengths, build vision, set goals, and develop their personal leadership styles – to become confident leaders on their teams, in school, and in the community. With this foundation, athletes will have a responsibility to return to their schools, communities, and teams, to make others better.

Victory’s Executive Director is Kristen Kjellman Marshall, 2-Time World Cup Lacrosse Champion, 2-Time Tewaaraton Trophy Winner, and 3-Time NCAA Women’s Lacrosse National Champion. Kristen will be at Northstar to conduct the Victory Academy program. “Our vision at the Victory Academy is to build young leaders. We recognize that a leadership void is being created, and we must help fuel a new generation of leaders,” said Marshall. “I am honored and excited to return to the Northstar Invitational to share my athletic and professional experiences with the student athletes and help propel them towards their own success.”

The Northstar Invitational will return for its sixth consecutive year to the Northwood School in Lake Placid, July 24-27, 2017.
