Denver, CO - Summit Lacrosse Ventures (SLV) proudly announces that it has joined forces with the Lacrosse Outreach Foundation (LOF) to support the 24th Annual Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Jamboree, June 2-3, 2018. The Jamboree was founded in 1995 by Nancy & Ted Baruch, and the LOF; over its 23 years, the tournament has been a staple of the Colorado lacrosse community, serving youth, middle school, and high school boys and girls.
LOF is a nonprofit organization, established in 1994 in Colorado, dedicated to providing quality programs and services geared towards getting and keeping young people involved in extracurricular activities, primarily boys and girls lacrosse. Lacrosse Outreach's mission is to promote lacrosse, in hopes of including young people, particularly those at risk, in positive, pro-social, life building activities. Since 1994, LOF has created tremendous opportunity for youth across the state of CO, to include support of economically challenged schools and programs, equipment donation, after school programs, financial aid to families in need, free clinics, and much more.
SLV, most known for its flagship Lake Placid Summit Classic (founded by George Leveille in 1990), is a nationwide leader in delivering first-class lacrosse experiences to boys, girls, men and women, from Lake Placid, NY to Lake Tahoe, CA. SLV is committed to emphasizing the development of life skills, and takes great pride in fostering a lifelong community of individuals who love lacrosse, and who share the ideals of competition, respect, and camaraderie.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Lacrosse Outreach Foundation and the Baruch family who have played such a meaningful role in the development of lacrosse in Colorado for the past 25+ years", said SLV's Chief Executive Officer, Ashley Gersuk Murphy. "The Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Jamboree embodies the festival atmosphere that makes young lacrosse players love the game, and we look forward to continuing its tradition, and the mission of LOF.”
"Ashley Gersuk, a lifelong friend of the Baruch family, relocated to Colorado two years ago, creating a perfect opportunity for Ashley and Summit Lacrosse Ventures to bring in the operational support that the Lacrosse Outreach Foundation needs to manage its programs", said Ted Baruch.
Ted, the Baruch family, and their cadre of lacrosse friends will remain deeply involved in the Lacrosse Outreach Foundation's activities, with an increased emphasis on charitable and lacrosse promotional events.
A portion of the RMLJ proceeds have and will continue to benefit the Ted Sullivan Memorial Fund (TSMF) which promotes the growth of lacrosse and provides scholarships to lacrosse players in financial need. The TSMF was established in 2002 in loving memory of Ted Sullivan by his family and friends. Ted was a great lacrosse player and coach, and sadly lost a lifelong struggle to depression at a tragically young age. Ted was happiest when playing lacrosse. Over $100,000 has been raised in Ted's memory, and has been used to fund scholarships, equipment donations, teen suicide prevention efforts, and various life-building opportunities for young people in Jefferson County.
