The 2018 Northstar Invitational concentrated 150+ talented student athlete leaders from 21 States and 3  Canadian Provinces to the Northwood School, adding one more Chapter to the storied sports history of Lake Placid.  At Northstar, the focus is athlete development --- sports performance, mental fitness, leadership training, recruiting process preparation, small-sided play, and more. Athletes are selected to Northstar because of their talent and leadership, on and off the field, and the aim is for them to leave as more prepared student athletes, motivated to raise the bar, and loving the game even more. Of course, part of the Northstar experience was highly competitive games, split throughout 6 full-field game sessions. Teams competed in mixed graduation year teams, named after women's professional and NCAA teams. It took overtime for the Dukes to take home the Northstar Championship over the Braves.
