Nominate A Legend of LP Lax

How to become a Legend

BACKGROUND:

The 2014 Summit marked the 25th anniversary of the Summit Lacrosse Classic in Lake Placid, NY. From its humble beginning with 7 teams playing fourteen 14 games in 1990, the 2014 Summit featured 250 teams playing more than 550 games over the seven days of the tournament. The growth and success of the event is in large part due to the high quality of the teams and players who have participated in the event as well as the many individuals and organizations who have provided the logistical, managerial and financial support required to conduct the event. To celebrate the first 25 years of the event, Lake Placid Lacrosse  established the “Legends of Placid Lax” program which identifies and honors those participants who have made a substantial contribution to the quality and sustainability of the event. The inaugural class of 25 “Legends” were announced in conjunction with the 2014 event. A series of special events were held to honor the Legends and to celebrate this important milestone in the evolution of the event. Included in this initial class were the individuals who have already been recognized and honored with tournament awards in their name. This included the following individuals: Jim Muhlfelder, Larry Piatelli, Travis Solomon, and Dan Spillett. In addition, a silver anniversary all-star team of individual players was recognized as well as teams that have been consistent participants in the tournament or have achieved significant success during their participation. In the subsequent years, additional Legends have been inducted, and will continue to be on an annual basis. Check out all Legends of Lake Placid Lax.
