2021 SLV Eligibility Guidelines/Restrictions: All Scholastic Tournaments/Divisions

  • Players should meet the “U” and graduation year criteria of the division they participate in. In the event that a player does not meet both criteria, they must meet the graduation year criteria to participate.
  • Further, to participate in a high school tournament, a student athlete must not have graduated from high school, and therefore must have remaining high school eligibility, to exclude post-secondary (post-graduate) education.
  • SLV makes every effort to facilitate and promote fair and safe competition. Burden is on the player, guardian, and coach to be aware of and in compliance with published eligibility guidelines/restrictions. SLV reserves the right to disqualify any player who is determined ineligible.
  • Northstar division(s): HS Grad Years 2021-2024. No college student athletes are permitted to participate in the scholastic portion of the event.
  • No player is permitted to play for more than one team in any signle division (ex. Northstar) without explicit approval from SLV, in advance of the tournament.
  • Nike Northstar Division Double Rostering Exception:
    • Girls who intend to participate in either Northstar division with their future collegiate teammates, but also have a commitment to their club team attending in the 2022-2024 Gold or Silver Divisions, may play in both divisions under the following circumstances:
      • Player is rostered on both teams in advance of the tournament;
      • Both teams must be able to field a team without double rostered player(s). SLV is not responsible for schedule conflicts caused as a result of double rostered players
      • 2021’s may not play in the gold or silver divisions.
  • Players are permitted to participate in both Northstar Divisions under the following circumstances:
    • Player is rostered on both teams in advance of the tournament;
    • Both teams must be able to field a team without double rostered player(s). SLV is not responsible for schedule conflicts caused as a result of double rostered players
    • Decision must be based in ‘good faith’ and not to gain a competitive advantage. Discretion is left to tournament directors if relevant.
    • Reminder that the only way to ensure eligibility is for all players to complete the mandatory online registration process which will be distributed in March to all registered team admins & coaches.
